Sape Mas Ma (Hello Friends!),
I’m thrilled to announce that the 2023 Arizona Indian Gaming Association (AIGA) Expo & Tradeshow is set to take place at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort from November 7 – 9 in Maricopa, AZ. As both the Chairman of the Ak-Chin Indian Community and the AIGA, I wholeheartedly welcome you to this year’s event, where we’ll showcase over three decades of Tribal Gaming in our great state of Arizona. The journey of our Nations, Tribes, and Communities in securing and safeguarding our inherent rights to gaming on Indigenous lands showcases resilience at its finest. Let’s gather to celebrate these incredible achievements!
The narrative of Tribal Gaming — our collective narrative — has its roots deep within our Tribal Nations. From the outset, Arizona’s Tribal Leaders foresaw gaming as a potential avenue for economic growth, benefiting our communities. This foresight has since forged many bonds, alliances, and collaborations within Arizona and across Indian Country, further reinforcing our Tribal governments and uplifting our economies. Reflecting on Tribal Gaming’s outstanding success, we’ll also pay homage to those who’ve walked this path alongside us.
Kickstarting the AIGA Expo on November 7, we’ll tee off with the AIGA Desert Classic Golf Tournament at the renowned Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, recognized by Golfweek as one of the Top 100 Resort Courses. The day will continue with a Welcome Reception at the Ak-Chin Circle Entertainment Center, culminating in the spirited Expo Bowling Tournament. On November 8, we’ll delve deep into pivotal topics surrounding Tribal Government Gaming during our Expo sessions. The Tradeshow floor will serve as a hub, spotlighting our esteemed partners and collaborators who’ve immensely contributed to our ventures. A highlight event to look forward to is our Chef’s Challenge, where our talented Tribal enterprise chefs will vie for this year’s Top Chef title. Concluding our event on November 9, Tribal Leaders will convene for a Forum, reflecting on their respective Tribe’s gaming trajectory and visions for the future. We’ll wrap up with insights on the present-day scenario of Tribal Gaming.
Please mark your calendars and join us at the AIGA Expo and Tradeshow this November in the Ak-Chin Indian Community. As we reminisce and chart our future, I eagerly await your presence. Learn more and register at www.azindiangaming.org/aiga-expo.
Warm Regards,
