Actor and Comedian Paul Rodriguez Takes Star Billing at Closing Luncheon, November 8, for Arizona Indian Gaming Association Expo

Actor, comedian, film, TV and concert star Paul Rodriguez will perform at the closing luncheon November 8, 2013 at EXPO AIGA, the Southwest's Foremost Gaming & Business Summit & Trade Show.

rodriguezPHOENIX, Sept. 3, 2013 — /PRNewswire/ —  Actor, comedian, film, TV and concert star Paul Rodriguez will perform at the closing luncheon November 8, 2013 at EXPO AIGA, the Southwest’s Foremost Gaming & Business Summit & Trade Show.  EXPO AIGA runs from November 6 through 8, 2013 at Casino del Sol Resort, Tucson, Arizona, owned and operated by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

“Paul Rodriguez is a consummate entertainer who was voted one of the most influential Hispanics in America,” said Valerie Spicer, Executive Director of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association (AIGA). “Paul uses comedy to bring attention to socio-economic issues that affect many Tribal and Hispanic communities. The topic of conversation for our conference is ‘Business Beyond Borders’ and Rodriguez is a great fit.  We’re thrilled to have him as a part of our event.”

Through his performances and philanthropic work, Rodriguez raises awareness of issues facing the Latino community and the world at large. His charity work includes Comic Relief, USO, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, among many others.  He was also recognized by the City of Fresno for his work in water conservation. That City presented him with the “Humanitarian of the Year Award.”

AIGA has a membership of 17 tribes representing more than 90% of the Indian people living on reservations in Arizona. AIGA was established November 21, 1994 by Arizona tribal leaders.  The Association is committed to advancing the lives of Indian peoples – economically, socially and politically – so that Indian tribes in Arizona can achieve their goal of self-reliance.  Current membership includes:  Ak-Chin Indian Community, Cocopah Tribe, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Fort Mojave, Fort Yuma-Quechan Tribe, Gila River Indian Community, Havasupai Tribe, Hualapai Tribe, Kaibab-Paiute Tribe, Navajo Nation, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, San Carlos Apache Tribe, Tohono O’odham Nation, White Mountain Apache Tribe, and the Zuni Tribe.
